  • About author:Prof. LI Keqiang, Who is a professor from the Department of Automotive Engineering of Tsinghua University. He is a professor of “Changjiang Scholars Program”, a member of Advanced Vehicle Control (AVEC) international Scientific Committee, an editorial board member of the “International Journal of Vehicle Autonomous Systems” and the “International Journal of ITS Research” and a reviewer of the “International Journal of Vehicle Design” and the “International Journal of Vehicle System Dynamics”, etc. His research field covers vehicle dynamics and control for driver assistance systems and hybrid electrical vehicles.

Abstract: The concept of intelligent environment-friendly vehicle (i-EFV) and recent research progress were annotated to explore the next generation of vehicle. The i-EFV integrates three main components including intelligent information interaction, clean energy powertrain and electrified chassis while employing
key technologies of structure sharing design, data fusion and control coordination to achieve comprehensive performance, in terms of traffic safety, comfortableness, fuel efficiency and environmental protection. Two typical i-EFV applications including intelligent battery electric vehicle and intelligent hybrid electric vehicle were revealed to prove comprehensive i-EFV advantage with two major foundational research problems in vehicle dynamics and control fields being proposed.

Key words: electric vehicle, intelligent environment-friendly vehicle, structure sharing, information fusion, ontrol coordination
